You don’t need to do more - you need to go deeper
When it comes to your marketing, sometimes the answer is to keep going. It might be working — you just haven’t seen it yet.
Hello,
Some quick thoughts on marketing and some coaching prompts for you this week. I hope you find them helpful.
The highlight of my week? The arrival of my incinerator.
Middle age has officially arrived (I think we knew that already - but this is further confirmation).
The warmer weather has been so welcome. The heating went off on the 1st of April, which was working well… until today. It’s feeling decidedly frosty again, and the heated blanket made a return to my office chair.
Perhaps we’ll be huddled around my new incinerator for warmth - and not just to clear the garden waste?!
Industry Insight: The quiet power of sticking with it
This week, I’ve been thinking a lot about how much time we give things before we move on. And how easy it is to get distracted or pulled off course. This applies to all aspects business, but perhaps most notably to marketing and sales.
If you’re not bringing in the clients you want - whether that’s not enough, or not the right fit - what’s your next step?
How long do you stick with a marketing method before jumping to the next thing? Do you stay the course, or get easily sidetracked by what everyone else is doing?
Do you take time to look at all the component parts of your marketing - or do you automatically blame the method if its not working, rather than questioning the clarity of your message?
Are you collecting any data to back up what you’re feeling - or is it all gut instinct and hearsay?
It might not be about doing more
When it comes to marketing your interior design business - it might not be about doing more - spreading yourself ever thinner, pushing yourself ever closer to burnout.
It might actually be about doubling down on what’s already in motion. Getting curious about what’s working (or not), rather than piling on new marketing streams.
Sometimes, it just takes more time. More clarity. More resilience.
Sales and marketing are largely about consistency.
Coaching questions to explore:
What excuses might you be using to keep yourself stuck?
e.g. “I just don’t have a big enough audience on Instagram — if I did, I’d be getting more leads.”What would you be prepared to do to change your situation?
e.g. Spend time honing your marketing message and getting crystal clear on your target audience and the transformation you deliver.Rather than adding something new, what’s one thing you’re already doing that you could do more of to see better results?
e.g. Show up consistently and talk about the same service offering — clearly and confidently.
This week, rather than chasing something new, maybe ask yourself: where could a little more consistency create a lot more impact?

The story behind Paper Thin Moon is enchanting. I’m a sucker for a family built business - skills passed down through the generations.
Run by father and daughter team Peter and Claire Holland - all their ceramics are hand thrown by Peter, the seventh generation of the Fishley Holland family of craft potters.

In my coaching accreditation, I’ve been learning a lot about managing energy - using small cues (a quick dance break, lighting a candle, a glass of water) to shift between tasks and avoid those sneaky energy hangovers.
So it made absolute sense that their incense wellness gift set (pictured above) would fall into my basket! Designed to encourage moments of calm, reflection and reset…yes please.
I’d love to hear how you get on with the coaching prompts - or if you have any breakthrough moments in your business!
p.s. If you’re not sure where to focus your marketing — or you’re second-guessing what’s working — you’re not alone. I offer calm, practical guidance through 1:1s and my membership. You can take a look here if you’d like some support.
A great reminder. Thanks Lisa!
